Agnieszka A. Wolodzko  | Friday 15.12. | 10.00 - 12.30

In her research Agnieszka investigates ways in which art, by using living bodies as its medium, reveal overall cultural, social and political significance of affect in the contemporary understanding of manipulated bodies. Agnieszka is leading the AKI reserach programme BIO MATTERs and the AKI BIO LAB.

With the new biotechnologies such as cloning, tissue engineering, DNA editing and the research on microbiome our old understanding of what is life and living bodies, nature and culture have stopped having any fixed meaning and relevance. Artists known as bioartists and biodesigners have begun to use living matter as a form of visual speculation but also hands-on manipulation, actively participating in shaping an understanding of what life is and what living bodies might be and do.

Year 2: Photo assignment Moving Image 3.3 #2

"Sequence"

Get out of the house and take a camera with you.
Make a photo of a situation that draws your attention.
Look at the content of that image and choose one subject in that image that will guide you to the next situation.
For instance: in photo #1 you can find a plastic bag. The plastic bag will determine where your second photo will be taken or what the second photo will contain. Find a new subject in your second photo etc. In the end you will present 10 images that will tell a story when sequenced in the right order.
Presentation on December 18

Year 2: Photo assignment Moving Image 3.3 #1

‘Balance’

Choose a good day.
Put on your shoes.
And put on your headphone and listen to some good music.
Take a coffee to go.
Go outside and start walking with no specific target to go to.
Keep on walking and photograph anything and everything that refers to the word "balance".
Don't talk to anyone, don't stop walking and don't pay any attention to the time; just put your alarm clock at 5 hours after you start. That will tell you when to stop walking and photographing.
At the end of the day make a selection of 10 images and put those in a presentation to be presented on December 12.

Year 1+2: Film screening + art / film history

Thursday 30.11. | film screening 10.00 | room 0.56

Pepperminta is an anarchist of the imagination.

She lives in a futuristic rainbow villa and according to her own rules. Colors are the young woman’s best friends and strawberries are her pets. She knows the most amazing remedies to free people of their fears.

Pepperminta‘s wish is for everyone to see the world in her favorite colors. Werwen, a young plump and shy man yet whose sex appeal Pepperminta finds highly attractive, and the beautiful Edna, who talks to tulips, join her on her passionate mission.

These three musketeers of a different kind set out to fight for a more humane world. Wherever the gang appears, everything is turned upside down and people’s lives are transformed in the most miraculous and wondrous of ways.
